Institutional Giving Manager

Background: World Action for Humanity believes that local people, leaders and organizations understand how best to achieve lasting improvement in their own communities.

Founded in 2004, World Action works to identify and support local leaders and their initiatives to improve lives in developing countries. To achieve our mission, World Action operates as a volunteer driven model with teams based in San Francisco and New York. We provide financial resources and technical assistance to partner projects based in developing countries with proven records of success in education, health care, nutrition and care for children. World Action currently works with three partner organizations in East Africa, reaching approximately 800 women, children and families.

About the position: World Action is currently recruiting a team of professionals to volunteer their expertise and time to help expand our work. Volunteers will collaborate with a professional board of directors to help design and implement the organization’s strategic plan over the coming year. The opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking to gain exposure to the field of international development or gain increased professional responsibility.

World Action is recruiting a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional to join our team as Institutional Giving Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Board of Director, and Individual Giving Manger to create and implement an annual development plan
  • Research prospective institutional donors with funding priorities aligned with the values, mission and vision of World Action
  • Work with Board of Directors to cultivate relationships with institutional donors including coordinating meetings and follow up
  • Prepare appropriate letters of inquiry and grant requests
  • Develop, implement and maintain a system for tracking institutional donor relationships
  • Oversee reporting processes
