We are pleased to announce a change to our fundraising strategy. In the past, we have targeted our fundraising efforts toward specific initiatives that our partners have undertaken. While this approach has helped our partners successfully complete their projects, we found that this limited their ability to respond to emerging needs within their communities. As a result, we have decided to begin collecting unearmarked donations, which gives our partners the ability to fund initiatives, projects and operating expenses using their best judgment. This new approach also supports our commitment to sustainability by not allowing earmarked donations to interfere or misguide their work. Our partners work in dynamic environments that present a broad range of challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact, and we believe their practical experiences in these environments enable them to understand how best to allocate funding to accomplish their mission. We’re excited about this new direction and believe this will increase our partners’ ability to effectively assess and respond to the needs of their communities.
